NETWare ATM Gateway
The ATM Gateway is a software-based interface that links an existing ATM network with a banks’ backend system. The link provides the services offered by the ATM network with real time processing based on up-to-date data which are directly retrieved from the backend system. Furthermore the Gateway guarantees its availability for message processing 24x7 by standing-in in case the backend system fails or is otherwise unavailable for processing.
The Gateway is designed to accept ATM messages arriving from the ATM Controller in an ISO 8583 format.  These messages are processed with the help of the banks’ backend systems and an appropriate response is routed back to the ATM machines. The Gateway replies to received messages (never initiates any). It therefore acts as a Server.  This Server supports multiple connections and requests and handles them simultaneously.
